Angela Davis Speaks for Justice

Oceanseed Project is so pleased to welcome and listen to activist, author, and distinguished UC Santa Cruz professor emerita Angela Davis this evening at this year’s keynote speaker at the 2015 Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Convocation in downtown Santa Cruz.
Join us in this powerful event, our mission, passion and work to create our best world, verdant and just for all.
The topic of her talk will be “Racism, Militarism, Poverty: From Ferguson to Palestine.” The convocation begins at 7 p.m., at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium, is free and open to the public.
The author of nine books, including her most recent, The Meaning of Freedom, which is a collection of essays Angela Davis was a professor in history of consciousness and feminist studies from 1991 to 2008, when she retired.
An esteemed activist and dedicated critic of the United States prison system, Ms. Davis has been instrumental in societies related consideration including the market drivers that fuel of prison industrialization.
